In
1989 Giannino Castiglioni and Maurizio Borletti, respectively
members of well known families of designers and entrepreneurs,
formed Trabo, with the intention of distributing nationally
in Italy a range of small eletrical appliances (toaster, blenders,
hairdryers, accesories for microwaves ovens etc.). At the
same time they also begin distributing on an exclusive basis
a number of leading European brands of housewares and leisure
products. After an evaluation of the market for small eletrical
appliances in Italy, Giannino Castiglioni felt there was an
oppurtunity to drawn on his family heritage of italian design
to "reinvest" everyday domestic appliances that
had become increasingly mediocres and take them out of the
ordinary working, in conjunction with the famous designer
Gae Aulenti, the first products were introduced-an innovative
toaster and blender.Following this success, Piero Russi was
commissioned to experiment with the new materials for hairdryers
in classical and trEndy designs, inline with the current fashion
for bathroom decor. These new "Italian Style"
ranges are made to appeal to the more sophisticated consumer,
who requires attractive products in minimalist lines that
will blend with and enhance the decor of open plan living,
rather than simply functional objects.Trabo products
can be seen at their stand at the following major fairs: Macef
Milan-february and september, Domotechnica Cologne-march.
